Weekly Newsletter: 8/30 "Back To School"

Good evening band family,

I can't believe tomorrow is the last day of August and our lovely kiddos will be headed back to school this week. This summer flew right past us. Pretty soon it'll be pumpkin spice and apple cinnamon everything!!!

Just a reminder that our discount card fundraiser will be ending on Friday, however we will still sell the leftover cards at home football games and 3rd Friday in Downtown Salisbury. For every 10 cards sold, your student qualifies for 1 raffle ticket towards 3 AMAZING prizes. You still have time to qualify if you haven't yet sold 10 cards!!!

Prizes are:

-a gift card with $25 monetary value

-a snack basket

-JMB swag

Kudos to all that participated in the discount card blitz this past Wednesday. We sold over 50 cards between back to school night, Rita's Italian Ice, and La Tolteca. That's over 500 dollars raised towards feeding the kids, transportation, and additional band needs.

There is a sign-up sheet on the Band app to bring in more snacks and beverages. The kiddos have been working hard and the shelves are bare bones. Please, send in salty, sweet, portable snacks as well as any electrolyte drinks (Powerade/Gatorade/Body Armor/etc.) We still have a bunch of water left over from band camp but that stash will get low pretty quick.

Dinkles have arrived. If your student ordered a pair, they will be in the band room. Please advise the students to wait for an adult to distribute the dinkles.

Our first football game has been moved to an away game! We will now have practice from 9-12. We'll finish learning the 3rd movement so that we can hopefully perform it at Kent Island.

The week ahead:

• Tuesday- Sophomores-Seniors are playing for Freshmen First Day @ 7am! Winds & Guard Sectionals 6-8:30pm

• Wednesday- Full Band & Guard Practice 6-8:30pm

• Thursday- Percussion Practice 6-8:30pm

• Saturday= Practice 9-12

Our new website jmbclipperbands.com will be posted on The Helm starting next week. That should bridge the email gap we seem to be facing at present time.

That is all for this evening. Wishing you all and amazing school year ahead. Stay positive, remain focused, and rock on!!!
