Band Info - 7/12/2026
Greetings to all,
This is my first official email to all of our new and returning band families. My name is Tiya Bethea and I am the mom of Sophomore -Alto sax player -Tarah McFadden. I Hope everyone is enjoying this hot summer and staying cool. I wanted to share some upcoming events with you to add to your personal calendars and keep at the top of your minds.
Band camp starts in 3 weeks on Monday, August 3rd, 2026. Sign up lists for donations will be coming soon. Please be on the lookout for it. Please let me know if you do not have the band calendar for the school year and we will gladly provide you with one.
Band Camp Schedule:
8am-4pm Monday-Friday Aug. 3rd-14th
Check with your section leaders for what to bring
LUNCH, WATER, sunscreen, hat, cell phone w/ charger, are all essentials.
Friends & Family Show Friday the 14th @ 6pm
Come enjoy what the kids have worked on!
DCI Trip Signups:
Contact cgilmore@mywcps.org ASAP to sign up to attend.
Tickets are $40. Checks to JMB Band Boosters accepted.
Trip is Tuesday July 28th. Departure time is 1pm from JMB. Return time is ~11pm. All details available in the BAND App/Google Classroom.
Chaperones are welcome. Transportation is provided.
Shorebirds Fundraiser:
August 15th @ 6pm Arthur W. Perdue Stadium
Band/Guard members pay $11 for their ticket
Band members who cannot attend contact Ms. Gilmore ASAP!
Every ticket sold is a $5 profit for the band. Sell as many as you can! It's a fireworks night
Money is due by the first Wednesday of Band Camp (Aug. 5th)
We are working on revamping the band app for the 2026/27 school year. Band app invites coming soon! If I missed anyone, I encourage you to share this email with them.
