Weekly Update - 8/16/2026

Good evening everyone!

This past week was a busy one! Last week of band camp, we had our first band booster meeting of the school year and our discount card fundraiser began.  I know upperclassmen are used to the card drive starting the first week of band camp. Unfortunately, due to scheduling conflicts, we got them out a week later than usual, but better late than never!!!! Speaking of discount cards, they were passed out 48 hours ago and are selling like hotcakes!!!!

The parent show on Friday was a success!!! Although the weather wasn't very cooperative, the show still went on as scheduled! A huge shout out goes to the Soule's for their assistance with JMB merch on Friday and for getting us set up with Venmo for discount card sales! Much appreciated.

Thank you to all of the students and parents that volunteered for the county fair discount card sales and parking! We cannot do this without YOU!!!! We sold over $2,500 worth of discount cards over the weekend between students handing in the monies from their envelopes and sales from the county fair. WAY TO GO!!!!!!! Keep the momentum going. Honorable mention goes to Aubrey King for her hard work at the fair on Saturday. She sold 60 discount cards. That makes 6 raffle ticket entries for her chance to win one of 3 prizes at the end of the discount card fundraiser.

If you have sold your first batch of 10 cards, please bring the monies with you this week to band practice and place in the box behind Ms. Gilmore's desk and you will be given another 10 cards to sell.

The week ahead:

Tuesday:      Winds & Guard Sectionals 6-8:30pm

Wednesday: Full Band & Guard Practice 6-8:30 pm

Thursday:     Percussion Practice- 6-8:30 pm

Saturday:      Morning rehearsal 9am-12pm

Exciting news!!!! Our website will launch this week. Moving forward, my email blast will be included on our website. A one-stop shop for all things JMB Band!!!!

I'm attaching the minutes from the booster meeting on here as well as our stay connected qr code. As always, please feel free to reach out with any questions and/or concerns. Rest well this evening and have a marvelous week!!
